Minimum Salaries Rise In Tight Labour Markets - China

Minimum salaries have been raised across the board in Guangdong and some of China's other employment "hot spots", as competition for labour increases. The South China province has put up its minimum wages by some 18%, with large rises elsewhere, too - please refer to the table for details.
It is also interesting to note increases this summer and autumn, in Chongqing, Shenyang, Dalian, and Xian, amongst others. In less competitive markets, minimum wages have remained the same for some time.
