Update on Nanjing development zones

With the introduction of the new unified tax code at the recent People's National Congress, a lot of the tax incentives in special economic zones are going away. However, for certain sectors, such as hi-tech and exporting enterprises, preferential tax treatment remains, and special development zones that cater to these sectors will continue to remain attractive to foreign direct investment. Nanjing, located on the Yangtze River in the Shanghai-Nanjing-Hangzhou economic triangle, has several interesting options for FDI.

Nanjing is still a developing city in terms of infrastructure, but the cities development zones are at the head of the change. In this issue, we take a look at two of these development zones, the Nanjing High Tech Development Zone (NHTDZ) and the Nanjing Jiangning Economic and Technological Development Zone (NJETDZ).
