Well thats great news. I for one always found the delayed flights announcements "The flight is delayed because of the aircraft delay" a little uninformative. But they just don't announce things they must also have known about weeks in advance. On a trip to Macao for a weekend, departing Pudong mid afternoon Friday to catch the very wonderful Madredeus in concert there that evening, I had the best house tickets. All looked good as we boarded the flight - only to sit on the tarmac for four hours as the Chinese air force were conducting exercises over the intended flight path. Missed the entire concert. They MUST have known that would happen. In fact the recent Chinese Aviation Authority technique of letting people board planes they know are going to face serious delays so the airport doesn't get jammed up is a disgrace. There's nothing to do on an airplane - at least in the departure lounge you can go sit in starbucks. Hopefully the new express service will actually be OK - China's domestic flights have been constantly having scheduling problems this past 18 months.
