This is a massive issue. I don't think many people realise commodity prices in China (and Asia) have doubled and tripled in the last 12 months in basics. Edible oil, wheat, rice, soya. Rice was USD320 a tonne in November. Its now USD700. Futures exchanges will help better hedge against price fluctuations & China is leading the way. Problem is having it in China could mean interference which is why having the CBOT to provide global balance to Dalian is a good idea.
