Sept. 17 – The People’s Bank of China has issued a commemorative RMB10 bank note to commemorate China successfully holding of the 2008 Summer Olympic Games (click on image to enlarge).
The notes feature the “Birds Nest” National Stadium on the front and a Greek discus thrower on the reverse. This is the first issuance of a bank note since 1999 that does not feature a portrait of Chairman Mao, however only six million of them have been released for circulation, ensuring their instant status as a collector’s item.
They are now trading at about RMB400 so if you find one, keep it!

Let me know where you can find one, too ! I just went to a Bank of China branch and they told me they sold them out last month during the Olympics. So, you cannot find these currency notes — tell me if I am wrong as I hope I am and can actually find these.
