Air transport

Hainan Airlines Co Ltd.’s Grand China Air will launch flights between Yinchuan, Shijiazhuang and Hefei starting December 10.

The Taiwanese government has approved a fourth rate cut for fuel surcharges of 14.3 percent on short- and long-haul lines beginning December 10.

Mandarin Airlines and its parent company China Airlines Ltd. will open a new route between Kaohsiung, Taiwan and Seoul, South Korea, starting today.

Wind power

A wind farm installed capacity in Bayannaoer City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, is set to expand by 600 MW by the end of this year, according to estimates of the Municipal Development and Reform Commission.

Solar power

Solar cells maker China Sunergy Co Ltd. has begun the construction of a crystalline silicon solar panels manufacturing site in Songjiang Industrial Park, Shanghai.

Both Suntech Power Holdings Co., Ltd. and JA Solar Holdings Co Ltd. cut expectations for operating income in the fourth quarter of 2008, due to the falling prices of silicon and cell chips.
