Hi Chris

Some of the items that you mentioned have a relatively less life period. For ex., Shoes, tooth brushes get worn out and we replace them from time to time. As far as Cheap jewellery is concerned, newer designs emerge and the consumers replace the older ones with the latest designs. Also, with Cameras and Computers, the consumers replace the older ones with newer models. So, there is also a second hand industry that is existing. May be studying the data over a period of about a decade or so will give us better information.

Thank you Ranjit. If the wiki answers comment about global computer ownership is incorrect, perhaps someone can give a considered opinion on what it actually is? We'd also be interested on commentary on other industries that may be waning in the face of global saturation from excessive China oversupply - and those that are on the way up. I'm sure our readers have some ideas and opinions!

Thanks for the article. It's good.

However I doubt the facts and figures presented in the Wikianswer section (may be an old wikianswer) as '“Computer ownership is now at about 4-5 percent of the world’s population. However with many social projects putting computers in villages in developing countries, between 12-14 percent of the world’s population have access to a computer. Approx 3-5 percent of the world’s population have internet access.”' much of it is totally wrong.

We can have our opinions but not facts, although the facts are wrong on above, the opinion may still be right.
