Solar power
Japanese solar modules maker Sun Dream Co. inked an agreement with Taiwanese Jumao Photonics Co. Under the terms of the contract Sun Dream will supply components to the Taiwanese company which will assembly the products and market them in China. Financial details were not disclosed.

Chinese photovoltaic modules maker Suntech Power Holdings Co. Ltd. said it will report its financial results for the fourth quarter and fiscal year of 2008 on February 18, before the opening of the U.S. market.

Air transport
Hong Kong’s Civil Aviation Department gave its nod to four flight providers to reduce their fuel surcharges by up to 44 percent for two months, effective February 1.

Civil Aviation Administration of China said that the country’s air carriers anticipate delivery of 241 aircraft in 2009. This will boost the available seats by 16 percent.

The price of the aviation fuel in China was decreased by RMB330 per ton by the China Aviation Oil Corp. Ltd. A month ago, the price fell by RMB2,400. Industry insiders said that this may save an average aircraft RMB250,000 per month.
