Notice on Information Entry for Import VAT

May 19 – The State Administration of Taxation recently issued a notice on information entry for import value-added tax, effective June 1.

Guoshuihan [2010] No. 195, issued May 12, specifies the changing roles on the Administration of Custom’s behalf. Namely, that the state customs organization will no longer serve the information entry for import VAT, instead transferring their responsibilities over to local tax authorities.

The notice strengthens the coordinated information system between the Administration of Customs and the local tax authorities and will further improve the VAT deduction management system, tax assessment and supervision system.
