Hello Chris, Good article & the info seem to apply to me.

I have been offered a 3 month contract with a company in Shanghai (employer). I will need to be in Shanghai during this employment and the company will pay for the lodging as well as all required work & residence visas.

They told me to set up my own company as a sole proprietor in the USA. I will then submit my company invoice to the employer for payment of my services. They will pay my company in USD and send the check to my US address.

With the above payment method, I will not need to pay ANY taxes because this would be considered a B2B transaction. Do you know if this is a legitimate tax exemption for me? Are there any potential negative consequences from such method of payment? Any feedback will be much appreciated. Thanks.
